Bed Bath and Beyond sells a very pretty etched glass martini set. Features include 4 uniquely styled martini glasses, glass olive toothpicks, and a glass shaker that explodes the first time you use it.
That's right. It shattered in my hand, producing minor lacerations in three places on my fingers. It wasn't serious, but it was kind of a downer on new year's eve. I'd stay away from this one. Also, I have pictures. Any recommendations for how to get them up on the webertron?

Using imageshack ( http://www.imageshack.us/ ) is a useful free way to load some files. I know that livejournal and myspace offer places to upload pictures that you can also host elsewhere as well. I'm sure there are other web picture hosts that are free as well.
Sorry to hear about your hand!
P.S. I hope you told them and asked for some expenses back, at least medical expenses. Clearly a design defect that is an easy big lawsuit against them, they should pull the item off the shelves.

a pint glass and a metal cup. it makes the best martinis period. ok so thats what the food channel told me. but seriously bars dont use martini shaker things and you make good ass martinis so its time to graduate. or something. am i making sense...
I agree with Richie a pint glass denotes a level of confidence in your martini shaking skills that I think you should go for - Too cool for the froo froo; though that set looked pretty swank.
Yeah, my theory is that they use the pint glass so the patrons will see the booze going in (unless they pour into the metal part. Do they? I think some research might be in order.)
As far as I'm concerned my metal shaker works fine. And by 'fine' I mean it hasn't ever exploded.
no you are wrong :p
Ok, fair enough. What makes the pint glass a better lid for the metal cup than the metal lid I use? We demand answers!
